Akira Update: Weaning her off pain medications is no picnic. With the Lidocaine patch removal she had just a little shaking, relief! However, this afternoon not the same story. Tried reducing the Gabapentin and 4 pm she began her heart-wrenching yelping and full body shaking.

Akira was bitten by a brown recluse spider that caused necrotic tissue and developed into cancer. Despite 4 months of such determined therapy, this baby just lost her leg less than 2 weeks ago.

YES!!! Akira has had such a difficult time getting comfortable day and night and we have many a sleepless night. Just figured out how to help her. She kept trying to curl up next to me and finally i get it, part of that was to be propped up so she was more comfortable....
